Home / Rubber Sheet / Commercial Grade Butyl
Advantages:
Butyl (IIR) is noted for its outstanding impermeability to gases and vapors and is frequently used in air retaining applications. It can possess very good resistance to heat, oxygen, ozone and sunlight. In addition, it can provide excellent resistance to alkalis, acids and oxygenated solvents. It has high energy absorption and can be a good electrical insulator.
Limitations:
Butyl is not recommended for uses requiring resistance to oil, gasoline and hydrocarbon solvents. Butyl products may be difficult to process.
